Albert Swanson

Albert Swanson, age 88, of Larimore, ND, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Deaconess Health Center in Northwood, ND.
Albert was born March 31, 1925 at Northwood, the son of Frank and Hannah (Smilden) Swanson. He was raised and grew to manhood in Larimore. He attended and graduated from Larimore High School in 1943. Albert served in the United States Marines during World War II. After receiving his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Larimore to work general contracting with his father. Albert started his own house construction business in 1951, retiring in 1989. Albert married Gene Edwards on September 9, 1950 in East Grand Forks, MN.
Surviving members of his family include his wife: Gene; daughter: Connie (David) Nelson, Grand Forks; sons: Ron (Michelle) Swanson and Brad (Kylie) Swanson both of Larimore; 6 grandchildren: Rochelle (Neal) Ray; Shaun Swanson; Amber Nelson; Kari (Anthony) Olson; Brenna Swanson and Jordan Swanson; and a sister; Marie Kvasager, Fargo.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Larimore.

VISITATION: Tuesday, July 16 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Wednesday.

INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, ND.

MILITARY HONORS: Ted Valerius Post No. 97 of the Larimore American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard.
