Allen Miller

Allen Miller, of Petersburg, ND, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2017 outside of Larimore, ND.

Allen was born November 16, 1958 in Michigan, ND, to Melvin and Anna (Schlosser) Miller, the youngest of 4 children. He grew up on the family farm in Petersburg, ND, helping his dad and learning how to farm.

Allen was baptized and confirmed in the Petersburg Lutheran Church. He attended and graduated from Unity High School in 1977 and furthered his education by attending Lake Region Junior College, graduating in 1979 with a Farm & Ranch Management Degree.


Allen married Linda Weisser on July 26, 1980 in Devils Lake, ND. They moved onto the family farm and began a family, having 3 daughters, Denise, Laurie, & Angela. Allen farmed with his father, taking it over when his dad retired. He continued farming and custom combining & baling until retiring from farming in 1999. After farming, he worked for Structures, Inc. doing construction before starting with Mike Kelly in 2002, where he got to return to his roots of farming.

Along with spending time with his family and friends, he enjoyed hunting (especially with his daughters), fishing, snowmobiling, curling, and riding his motorcycle. Allen was active in the church, Petersburg Volunteer Fire Department, a founding member of the Michigan Ambulance Board, Masons, and Nelson County Riders. Throughout his life, he held various positions within these organizations, such as Church Council, curling President, and the Nash Township Board.

His greatest joy was spending time with his Grandkids, creating magical memories for them to always cherish.

Allen is survived by his mother: Anna, Grand Forks, ND; 2 daughters: Laurie (Aaron) Pallansch, Devils Lake, ND, and Angela (Curtis) LeTexier, Grand Forks, ND; 4 grandchildren: Rylan and Charlee Pallansch and Madelyn and Amelia LeTexier; 3 sisters: Janeth (Warren) Resell, Humble, TX, Karen Simmons, Grand Forks, ND, and Melba Miller, Vadnais Heights, MN; special friend: Heather Lenhart, Petersburg, ND; former spouse: Linda Miller, Michigan, ND; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father: Melvin Miller; daughter: Denise Miller; father-in-law: Alvin Weisser; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

There will be a visitation from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore, ND. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Petersburg Lutheran Church, with an hour of visitation prior. Interment will follow at the Petersburg Cemetery.
