Anna (Schlosser) Miller, Grand Forks, and formerly Petersburg, ND passed peacefully in her sleep on December 22, 2020 at Woodside Village.  She was 99 years old.

Anna was born May 8, 1921 in rural Mandan, ND to parents Peter and Isabella (Steiner) Schlosser.  She attended school in rural Morton County.  She had ten siblings and was the third born and oldest daughter.  Anna married Melvin Miller on March 6, 1951 and they lived and farmed near Petersburg, ND.  They raised three daughters and one son on the farm.  They farmed until 1981 when Melvin retired and they built a home in Petersburg.  Anna lived in this home until 2008 when she moved to Valley Memorial Homes in Grand Forks, ND.

Throughout her life in Petersburg, Anna was involved in many community organizations including Civic Club, Sons of Norway, Petersburg Lutheran Church Ladies Aid, Lions Club and Petersburg Curling Club.  She was also a 4-H leader and Sunday School teacher for many years.  She farmed alongside Melvin and took care of the home doing the baking, gardening, canning, and running errands for the farm.  In her later years she enjoyed quilting and each of her children and grandchildren have a quilt that was hand-quilted by Anna.  After retirement, Anna and Melvin enjoyed traveling on bus trips across the country.

She will be missed and is survived by her children Janeth (Warren) Resell, Karen Miller, and Melba Miller; grandchildren Sara Salas, Matthew Resell, Nathan (Nicole) Vasquez, Becky (Jamie) Gudajtes, Jason (Kathryn) Vasquez, Beth Strobl, Chris Halstenson, Laurie (Aaron) Pallansch, and Angela (Curtis) Letexier; great-grandchildren Ashton and Brayden Salas, Cole, Dylan, and Natalie Vasquez, Maddison and Blair Gudajtes, Emery and Raya Strobl, Rylan and Charlotte Pallansch, and Madelyn and Amelia Letexier; siblings Valentine Schlosser, Marie Ferderer, and Alice (Warren) Williams; and many nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Allen Miller, granddaughter Denise Miller, brothers Jack, Anthony, Henry, and Peter Schlosser and sisters Patty Bauer, Isabelle (Bender) Wegner, and Katherine Kautzman, and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held Monday, January 4, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at Petersburg Lutheran Church

A public visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

We respectfully ask that you follow state guidelines for wearing masks and social distancing.

Interment will be in the Petersburg Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Valley Senior Living on 42 nd (4000 24 th Ave South, Grand Forks, ND 58201), Alzheimer’s Association, or a charity of your choice.
