Arleen Shide

Arleen Shide, age 87, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks.

Arleen was born October 18, 1930 in Larimore, ND, the daughter of Olaf and Ida (Lee) Skari. She went to Larimore High School, graduating in 1948. Arleen worked many places in Larimore. Some of her great employers were Ann Malm in the Ice Cream Store; Ben, Louise and Marvin Rostberg in their City Cafe; Joe and Edith McMenamy in his cafe; her father in Skari’s Cafe. She also worked at the Northwood Deaconess Hospital and Nursing Home. Her last employment place was the wonderful Larimore Golf Course.

Arleen and Henry Shide were married July 17, 1954 in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Larimore. In 1960 their daughter Becky was born.

Special things in Arleen’s life were her great daughter Becky, going to casinos, the Red Hatters, playing bingo at the Grand Forks Senior Center and she especially liked working at the Larimore Golf Course.

She is survived by her daughter Becky Shide, Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her husband Hank, February 28, 1988, her parents, sisters Evelyn, Lorraine and Phyllis and her brother Burton.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday December 7, 2017 in the Bakke Funeral Home Chapel in Larimore, ND with Rev. Father Gerard Braun officiating.

VISITATION: One hour prior to the service

INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore
