Arlene Knutson

Arlene E. Knutson, age 87, formerly of Niagara, ND, peacefully passed away on March 23, 2022 while surrounded by loved ones.

Arlene was born on June 24, 1934 in rural Niagara, ND. Arlene attended public school in Niagara. She was united in marriage to Richard (Dick) Knutson in St. Andrew Lutheran Church on July 15, 1956. Arlene worked as a bookkeeper for the Niagara Lumber Company for several years before becoming a CNA at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center, where she worked for 15 years. She continued caring for people through home health care for five years.

Arlene adored spending time with her family and friends, especially her great-granddaughters. She loved her “Sister Trips” with their travel guide, Brenda. She also enjoyed quilting, embroidery, a good game of cards and watching Twins baseball.

Arlene was survived by 3 children: Cheryl (John) Ramberg of Grand Forks, ND, Julie (Loren) Magnus of Niagara, ND and James (Deanna) Knutson of Acworth, GA; 3 grandchildren: Kyle (Jamie) Magnus, Cassie (Garriet) Gestson and Craig (Taylor) Magnus; 6, soon to be 7, great-granddaughters: Danica and Hannah Magnus, Kenzie and Khloe Gestson, Isla Magnus and Olivia Odden; siblings: Fred Wolfgram, Gerty Behm, Paul (Donna) Wolfgram, Herb (Sharon) Wolfgram, Erma Sauerwein, Karen Bornsen and Lois (Bob) Honek; sister-in-law, Judy Wolfgram; and several nieces and nephews.

Arlene was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Knutson; parents, Paul and Erna; brothers, Cliff (Lois) Wolfgram and Bud Wolfgarm; and 2 brothers-in-law, Gene Behm and Butch Sauerwein, and one sister-in-law, Arlene Wolfgram.

The funeral services will be held at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Niagara, on Monday, March 28 at 11:00 am. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Suelzle. Arlene will be laid to rest next to her husband, Dick, in the St. Andrew Lutheran Cemetery, Niagara. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 27 at the Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore, ND, starting at 3:30 pm with the prayer service starting at 5:00 pm.
