Arnold Paulson, age 79, of Emerado, ND, passed away Sunday, February 10, 2019 at his rural Emerado home surrounded by family and friends.
Arnold was born August 20, 1939 at Grand Forks, the son of Clarence and Elizabeth (Holweger) Paulson. He was raised and grew to manhood in the Emerado-Arvilla area. He attended rural Pleasant View Township School and attended and graduated from Central High School. He then began farming in rural Emerado in 1957. Arnold married Eileen Aamodt on May 29, 1961 in Miles City, MT.
Arnold was a member of the Arvilla Presbyterian Church and served in various positions. He was a volunteer with the annual Sox for Kids benefit. The Paulson Family had an active interest in raising horses and attending horse shows. He served many years on the Pleasant View Township Board and the Emerado Farmers Elevator Board. He was a charter member of the Arvilla Community Club and past member of the Emerado-Arvilla Lions Club from which he received the Melvin Jones Award. He was always willing to help someone else who needed help on their farm. Arnold and Eileen enjoyed traveling extensively for many years, spending recent years wintering in Arizona.
Surviving members of his family include his wife Eileen; sisters Eunice (Kenneth) Deihl, Elgin, ND, Connie Denault, Two Rivers, WI; sisters-in-law: Arlene Paulson, Arvilla, Judith Paulson, Grand Forks, Linda Schmidt, Arvilla; Shirley (Richard) King, Kirkland, WA; Gail Aamodt, Ft. Worth, TX; brother-in-law Edwin (Karen) Aamodt, Grand Forks; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Marvis, Gaylon, Everett and brother-in-law Ronald Denault.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Arvilla Presbyterian Church in Arvilla, ND.
VISITATION: Sunday February 17 from 2-4 p.m. with a 3:30 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Monday.
INTERMENT: Arvilla Cemetery, Arvilla, ND
MEMORIALS:In lieu of flowers memorials may be designated to the Arvilla Presbyterian Church or Altru Hospice.
