BARBARA SIMMONS

Barbara Simmons, age 87, of Larimore, ND and formerly of Reynolds, ND, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Society-Larimore.
Barbara was born October 10, 1926 at Carbondale, PA, the daughter of Friend John and Isabelle (Walker) Schuster. She graduated from Kingston, PA High School and moved to Norfolk, VA where she met Max Simmons. They were married February 20, 1954 and traveled the world together while he served in the United States Navy. Barbara worked Civil Service her entire adult life including NASA, Ames Research Center in California, The USN 6th Fleet in Naples, Italy and culminating with USN Naval Weapons at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. The couple moved to Reynolds, ND in the early 90’s. Mr. Simmons preceded her in death on February 25, 2004. She moved to Larimore in 2010 and became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in July, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her husband Max in 2004, parents, brothers: Robert, Duane and Gordon and nephew Duane Schuster, Jr.
She is survived by her son Kenneth, Las Vegas, NV; daughter Nancy (Barry) Kelly, Larimore; Grandsons: Kenneth (Kim) Kelly, Edina, MN; Brian (Alla) Kelly, Las Vegas; Great Grandchildren: Annika and Ian Kelly, Edina; Nieces: Kathy (Carl) Zinn, Florida; Diane Deets and nephew Michael (Julie) Maloney, Council Bluffs, IA; as well as great nieces, nephews and many friends.

SERVICES: 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2013 in the Good Samaritan Society Chapel, Larimore.

INTERMENT: Silver City Cemetery, Silver City, Iowa
