BETTY LOU MILLER
Betty Lou Miller, 65, of Larimore, ND died October 16, 2014 at home, after a long battle with cancer.
Betty Lou Olson was born on November 13, 1948 in Devils Lake, ND; the daughter of Irene and Ole W. Olson. She grew up on her parents’ farm in rural McVille, ND. She attended McVille High School and graduated in 1966. In 1967, she attended Weaver Air Line School in Kansas City, MO and Miami, FL. After graduation she worked in the reservations office of National Airline in San Francisco, CA. She returned to North Dakota in 1969 and married Eugene Miller on November 28, where they farmed and raised four children.
To those who knew her, she was kind and generous, always putting others before herself. She taught Sunday School, helped with church bazaars, and in later years after retiring from farming, spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest joy.
She is survived by her husband Eugene; daughters: DeAnna (Dwight) Lane, Glasston; Sheila Miller, Kannapolis, NC; Angela Miller, rural Larimore and son Michael, rural Larimore. She is also survived by 3 grandchildren: Alexander, Halley and Gaven; by her mother Irene Olson, McVille; sisters: Maxine (Gordon) Johnson, Prescott Valley, AZ; Carol Clevenger, Boulder, CO. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother Billy Olson; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Geraldine and Kenneth Miller.
VISITATION: Tuesday, October 21 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, October 22 in Elm Grove Lutheran Church, rural McCanna, ND.
