BETTY MUIR
Betty Muir, age 81, of Grand Forks and formerly of Inkster, ND, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 4000 Valley Square Woodside Village in Grand Forks.
Betty was born November 13, 1931 at Climax, MN, the daughter of Selmer and Florence (Potter) Syvertson. The family moved to a farm between Inkster and Fordville where she was raised. She also lived in other places with her family where her father taught school. She graduated from Nortonville, ND High School. She lived in Minneapolis for a short time before returning to Inkster. Betty married Douglas Muir in 1955 at Grand Forks. After their marriage the couple made their home in Inkster. Mr. Muir preceded her in death on December 13, 2001. Betty moved to Grand Forks in 2002. She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Grand Forks.
Surviving members of her family include her Stepson: Merle (Sandy) McDonald, Silver Bay, MN; Stepdaughter: Deanna McDonald, Fridley, MN; Daughter-in-law: Lori Muir, Grand Forks; Grandsons: Jerry (Courtney) Muir and Douglas Muir; Sisters: Jean (Norman) Roeder, Thompson; Elaine Sundin, East Grand Forks; and Brother: Dave (Katharine) Syvertson, Fargo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Mark; and brothers: Carmen, James and Robert.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 in the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Grand Forks.
VISITATION: One hour prior to the funeral in the church on Monday.
INTERMENT: Inkster Cemetery, Inkster, ND.
