Brent Nesdahl

Brent Allen Nesdahl, 46, Emerado, ND passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND

Brent Allen Nesdahl was born on December 13, 1976 the son of Richard and Peggie (Kemmer) Nesdahl in Northwood, ND.  He graduated from Larimore high school in 1995 then attended NDSCS in Wahpeton from Fall of 1995 to Spring 1997 in which he earned an Associate in Science in Agriculture (emphasis Agriculture Mechanics Sales and Service).  He was hired at Rust Sales in Fargo, ND in 1997.  Brent moved back to Emerado, ND and on his 23rd birthday, December 13, 1999 started working for Uglum-Ness (now called Titan Machinery) in Northwood, ND.

Brent Played a big role in his community, since high school and up he was very involved with Future Farmers of America FFA, President of the Farm bureau, was on 3 local pool leagues, President of Sunset Prairie Cemetery in Emerado in honor of his mother, Secretary of Chester Township and last but certainly not least Emerado Volunteer Fire Department.  Brent joined the fire department in 2009, he became assistant chief in 2015 and then became Chief in 2016.  He was very proud of his department, with the help of all the members, the fire department has grown in the right direction.  2019 Chief Nesdahl was awarded a grant from Otto Bremer foundation for $125,000 to expand the department.

In 2013 Brent met Jackie (Boucher-Middleton), he was a brave soul taking on 3 teenage kids. He was warned plenty of times, but he just kept saying “I love you; I love them.”  September 20, 2014, they got married and became a family. They had a few bumps in the road, but with his patience, guidance, humor and love Justine, Jade and Jaxon truly welcomed “Papa Bear” into their lives.    In 2019, Brent became a grandpa to grandson Coasten Lee Middleton, Brent fell in love at first sight.

Brent’s hobbies included, time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, cooking, time at the lake, spoiling his grandson and do not forget Sunday Funday at Johnny’s bar watching the Vikings.

Brent is survived by wife, Jackie; step daughters, Justine and Jade Middleton, step son Jaxon Middleton and grandson Coasten; beloved pets, Faison, Maggie, PeggySue and Eddie; his parent(s) Rick Nesdahl; step brothers, Jack Johnston, and Jadean (Janel) Johnston; In laws, Darrell (Sandi) Boucher; Sister-in-laws Dana (Leo) Denault, Deb Boucher; Nephew, Ty Boucher; Niece, Sydnee Boucher.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Peggie; brother-in-law, Len Boucher; Grandparents Lincoln Margaret “Pearl” Nesdahl; Jack and Zoni Kemmer and Uncle Jerome Nesdahl

Brent will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

FUNERAL SERVICES:  10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 28 in the Bakke Funeral Home Chapel, Larimore.

VISITATION:  Monday, November 27 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m prayer service in the Bakke Funeral Home.  Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the service.

BURIAL will be in Sunset Prairie Cemetery, Emerado, ND.
