DALE HALVORSON

Dale Halvorson, age 81 of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Dale Rodgers Halvorson was born on Feb. 20, 1933 near Kempton, ND the son of Vernon and Lila Lucke Halvorson. Dale was raised on a farm near Larimore,ND. He attended and graduated from Larimore High School in 1951. He then attended the University of North Dakota for one year. Dale was inducted into the United States Air Force and served five years in the European Theater radio intercept defense of the British Isles.
Dale received his honorable discharge in 1957. He married Mary Ann Corbett, raising their daughter Laura Lee. Dale moved to Long Beach, California in January of 1963 with his new wife, Hope Elaine. Dale was employed by RCA for 15 years. His career then changed to general manager for Penske Cadillac in Long Beach until 1989. Upon his retirement, Dale returned to Larimore area in 1994.
Dale was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church of Larimore, the North Star Masonic Lodge, and the Larimore American Legion.
Dale is survived by his daughter: Laura Lee (Brad) Marshall of Danville, California; grandson: Bradley Jr. “J.D.”; granddaughter: Brooke; and great granddaughter: Holland; half sister: Beverly Trommetter and her family of Willo, Ohio; cousins: Tom Haahr of Devils Lake,ND, Judy Fossum of Larimore, and Myrna Anderson of Barnsville, Minnesota. Dale was preceded in death by his parents: Vern and Lila.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 21, 2014 at the Bakke Funeral Chapel in Larimore, ND

INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore

MILITARY HONORS: Ted Valerius Post No. 97 of the Larimore American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Team.
