Darlene Anderson-Koplin, age 76 of Larimore, ND, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, ND.
Darlene was born February 5, 1937 to Chester and Florence (Chapman) Bakke on her family farm near Emerado, ND. Darlene attended grade school at a country school near her home and high school in Larimore, graduating in 1955. On November 23, 1957, she married Gerald Anderson at the Washington Lutheran Church at Northwood, ND. The couple lived and farmed near Larimore. Gerald passed away on February 19, 1983. She married James Koplin on June 19, 1998. They made their home near Larimore. Jim passed away December 9, 2012.
Darlene was active in many church and civic activities. She was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Larimore where she had served as Church Council President; was an active circle member and had served as ALCW President. She was President of the Grand Forks County Homemakers Council; a member of the American Cancer Society and a 4-H Leader. She held many offices in the Emerado/Arvilla Lioness Club and participated in many projects. She was voted a Melvin Jones Award.
Surviving members of her family include her children: Kristi (Rick) Swenson, New Rockford and Mark (Kim) Anderson, West Fargo; Grandchildren: Aaron Swenson, Fargo; Daniel Swenson, New Rockford; Brandon Anderson, West Fargo and Jessica Anderson, West Fargo; her brother: Ron (Janis) Bakke, Hoople, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Gerald Anderson and Jim Koplin; brother: Larry; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: LaVerne and Don Dowhower; and her parents-in-law.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Larimore.

VISITATION: Tuesday, May 28 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Wednesday.

INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, ND
