Dawn Beard Witherite

Dawn Beard Witherite, age 59, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her home in Grand Forks. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at University Lutheran Church in Grand Forks. A visitation will be held Friday, September 17, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. prayer service at the Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore.

Dawn was born on August 15, 1962, to Francis and Agnes (Adams) Beard.

Dawn loved her children more than anything and after they left home, her pets became her fur babies. She could be found watching her beloved tv show Sons of Anarchy, cheering on her UND football boys at home games, sharing her stories with any willing listener and of course always wearing pink. She may have had a larger-than-life personality but her love and support for her family and friends was never ending and a piece of her will forever shine as a star in the sky.

She is survived by her children: Jared Beard (Caitlyn Hayward) and Samantha Witherite. Siblings: Mark Beard, Larimore; Francine Hile, Marinette, WI; Connie (Danny) Doak, Crandall, TX; Mary Ann Smith, Larimore. Nieces and nephews: Jessica (Beard) Salyers, Jeff and Justin Beard, Tonya (Sean) Palmer, Rick and Jason Hile, Braeden Doak. Granddaughter: Emilia Beard. She was preceded in death by her parents.
