Denise Marie Sluke, 57, of Fordville, passed away peacefully at her Fordville home surrounded by family on January 22nd, 2024.

Denise grew up in Minto, ND, and graduated high school in 1984 as co-valedictorian of her class. Later, she earned a degree from Aakers Business College as an Accountant and Medical Secretary. Denise loved bookkeeping. Her employment included, Valley Electric Motor (Grafton), Fordville City Auditor (20 years), Fordville-Lankin High School, and Good Samaritan (Park River), where she enjoyed countless conversations with residents and co-workers.

Denise loved to spend time with her family and friends, especially during Christmas gatherings. She enjoyed cooking, watching newborn calves in the spring, and having good conversations either over the phone or in person. She and Dale enjoyed watching their favorite shows together, especially "The Bold and the Beautiful". Denise was kind-natured and had a gentle soul, which touched the lives of many and will truly be missed.

Surviving family includes:
Husband, Dale Sluke, Fordville; Parents, Donald Sr.& Marianne Rudnik, Minto; daughter, Marissa Sluke, Grand Forks; son, Preston, Fordville; Step-Daughter, Deanne Sluke, West Fargo; Step-Son, Dustin Sluke, Fordville, Granddaughter, Jolynn Trieglaff, West Fargo; brother, Donald Rudnik Jr. (Stacy), Grafton; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Denise was proceeded in death by her Grandparents, parents-in-law, a sister & brother in-law, and many extended family members.

At Denise’s request, there will be a private service for family members in the Spring.
