Dennis Carlson

Dennis Carlson, age 85, of Fordville, ND, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at First Care Health Center in Park River, ND.
Dennis Eugene Carlson was born May 1, 1929 on the Carlson Family Farm in Cleveland Township, the son of Berent “Ben” and Johanna (Thompson) Carlson. He was raised, grew to manhood and received his education in Cleveland Township. Dennis served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Marlys Corah on October 24, 1954 in Trinity Lutheran Church of Lankin. He was a lifelong resident and farmer in Cleveland Township on the Carlson Family Farm.
Surviving members of his family include his wife Marlys; children: Craig (Janice) Carlson, San Diego, CA; Christine (Jeff) Ferguson, Grafton; Rick (Jennifer) Carlson, Fordville; grandchildren: Nicholas Carlson, Kirsten Ferguson, Meghan Bryd, Sami (Mark) Huso, Holly (Travis) Stegman, Whitney Carlson, Landon Wood and Bryce Wood, great grandchildren: Nevaeh Huso, Taven Huso, Griffin Huso and Drake Stegman, brothers: Leslie (Judy) Carlson, Wadena, MN; Ronnie Carlson (Ila Loken), Michigan, ND; sisters: Delores Wermerskirchen, Crystal, MN and Joanne (Jim) Zander, Buffalo, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter-in-law: Fedelia Carlson; and brothers: Sheldon Carlson, Carroll Carlson, Urban Carlson and Dorman Carlson.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Quale Lutheran Church, rural Fordville.

VISITATION: Friday, September 19 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in Quale Lutheran Church. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.

INTERMENT: Quale Church Cemetery.

MILITARY HONORS: Bosh Ryba Post No. 157 of the Lankin American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Team.
