Dixie Peterson

Dixie Claudine Peterson, 72 of West Fargo, ND, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Villa Maria in Fargo.

Dixie was born on September 13, 1945 in Grand Forks, ND to Conrad and Alma (Quam) Hanson. She grew up on the family farm near Niagara, ND. She graduated from Unity High School in Petersburg, ND in 1963 and attended beauty college in Grand Forks, ND. She married Wallace Peterson on June 9, 1965 at Elk Valley Lutheran Church in McCanna, ND. They lived in various locations while Wally served in the military, including Hawaii, Virginia, Arizona and California. They settled back in North Dakota near where Dixie grew up where she raised her family.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading, cooking, taking care of and rescuing animals, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, John and Robert Hanson.

Dixie is survived by her children, Christopher (Lori) Peterson of West Fargo, Peter (Melissa) Peterson of Tioga, ND and Mandi-Leigh Peterson (Isaac Block) of Hillsboro,ND; grandchildren Owen, Petra, Jakob, Adam and Axel Peterson and brother, Marlo (Lorraine) Hanson of Camden, NC.

Visitation: Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 3-5 pm at Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore, ND and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Prayer Service: Sunday at 5 pm at Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore.

Memorial Service: Monday, October 9 at 10:30 am at Elk Valley Lutheran Church, McCanna, ND.
