Eldora Ellen (Rose) Habberstad was born into this life in Rolette, ND on July 9, 1928, to Johanna and William R. Rose. She passed away at her daughter’s home at Las Cruces, NM, on September 14, 2015 at the age of 87 years. She married Marvin Habberstad in Miles City, Montana on Nov. 20, 1952. The family moved to Arvilla, ND in the 1960’s, where she raised her family and helped in the family business, Marv’s Furnace and Air Conditioning. Marvin passed away November 25, 1990. After his death, Eldora lived in Grand Forks for several years before moving to Las Cruces, NM to live with her daughter.
Eldora was a born again Christian and spent her time teaching Bible classes at the Larimore Senior Center and ladies ministry at her church. She taught Sunday School on the GFAB for many years and was an avid reader, Skip Bo player and crossword puzzle lover. Eldora enjoyed travelling with her husband and visited most of the U.S. and traveled to Israel, Italy and Greece in 1978. Her most recent travels with family included Alaska, the Eastern and Western Caribbean, and Hawaii.
Survivors include her son Mark of Long Beach, CA, daughter Cheryel (Mrs. David) Coffelt, Las Cruces, NM, sister Marjorie Johnson of Rosedale, OR, grandson Patrick and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, and son Dean.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Freedom Church, 308 Demers Ave. in Grand Forks, ND.
VISITATION: Tuesday, September 22 from 5-7 p.m. with a 6 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore, ND. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral in the church Wednesday.
INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore.
