Ella Hagness

Ella Hagness, age 86, of Fordville, ND, passed away Monday, July 20, 2015 at First Care Health Center in Park River, ND.

Ella was born November 20, 1928 at rural Gary, MN the daughter of Walter and Annie (Dahl) Annis. She was raised in the Gary area and attended rural public school. She married Herbert Gullingsrud in 1947 at Detroit Lakes, MN. They lived in various communities before moving to Bowden, ND in 1952 where they lived until 1965 when they moved to Fordville. Herbert passed away in 1972. Ella married Harold “Judge” Hagness on March 10, 1973 in Fordville; he passed away August 3, 1997. She continued to make her home in Fordville.

Ella operated several cafes, a grocery store, and also was a grain elevator bookkeeper for many years.

Surviving members of her family include her children: Gary Hagness, Fordville; Harlin Gullingsrud, Broomfield, CO; Mary (Larry) Haugen, Bottineau, ND; Terry Gullingsrud, Fordville; Nancy (Don) Jallo, Portland, ND and Paul Hagness, Pembina,ND; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and her sister: Violet Orre, Fargo, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Herbert and Harold, sons: Mark Hagness and Gary Gullingsrud, brother: Roy and sister: Esther.

MEMORIAL SERVICES will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 24, 2015 at the Fordville Lutheran Church in Fordville, ND.

VISITATION: one hour prior to the service in the church
