Larimore

Eric Kent Peterson, AKA  Airwave "pete" known for his love of ham radio,  embarked on his final flight on Jan 20,2024, at  the age of 67, at home with family in Larimore ,ND.    Born on May 22, 1956, in Ft.worth, Texas to Aaron H. Peterson & Jacqueline J.[Wood] Peterson.  His life journey took him fromTexas skies to North Dakota's  welcoming plains.

He leaves behind a crew of loved ones: his co-pilot & wife, Kathryn; his wingmen: son Aaron; daughter Jessica, son-in-law Scott; & his trio of young navigators, grandsons Hunter, Dorian, & Jacobi DeGraffenreid.  His squadron of siblings, Dorman, Karen, Allen, Wendy, Starla, Jimmy, & Paul, along with stepmom Iva nell,  will miss their brother in arms.  Eric's pre-flight checklist was complete, save these, he was preceded in departure by his daughter; Jennifer L. Peterson, and his Parents.

During his 18-year tour of duty with the USAF, Eric soared through the ranks, embracing his service with dedication & honor.  After his descent from the wild blue yonder, he landed a role at Motor Coach Industries in Pembina, where his work ethic was anything but retired.

Eric's hobbies tuned in to a frequency all their own- he was a chess grandmaster in his own mind, an electronic wizard without the wand, an avid woodworker who could make lumber laugh. His retirement was anything but static, filled with projects that kept his hands & mind busy.

A celebration of Eric's ironic wit and honorable service is scheduled for later this spring. His final transmission may have signed off, but his signal will resonate eternally in the hearts of those who loved him.  Keep your antennas tuned for the Celebration of life, where tales of Erics adventures will be shared with laughter and maybe just just a hint of morse code.
