ETHEL EASTGATE
Ethel Eastgate, age 87, of Larimore, ND passed away on Friday, November 7, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society, Larimore.
Ethel JoAnn Ouradnik was born July 15, 1927 in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Charles and Bertha (Davy) Ouradnik. When Ethel was 8 months old, the family moved to a farm south of Petersburg, where she attended rural school for 8 grades. She attended one year of high school in Casselton and graduated from Larimore High School in 1945. Ethel then attended Jamestown College for 2 years.
Ethel was united in marriage to William “Bill” Eastgate on July 27, 1947 in the Methodist Church in Larimore and made their home in Jamestown. In January, 1948, the couple moved to Devils Lake and later that year they returned to Larimore to farm. Bill preceded her in death on August 12, 1993.
Ethel worked at the Larimore Library, Larimore Golf Course and the Elk Valley Elevator, Larimore. She was a member of the United Methodist Church Women; Order of the Eastern Star and was a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Society.
Surviving members of her family include daughters: Sharyl Maier, Bismarck, Vicki Eastgate, Bismarck and Patti (Gene) Aanenson, Larimore; son: Phillip (Sandi) Eastgate, Mandan; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters: Louise Johnson and Betty Bischke and brother: Henry Ouradnik.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law Mel Maier, sister Frances Erickson and brothers Howard, Loren, Donald and Robert.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at the United Methodist Church in Larimore.
VISITATION: Sunday, November 9 from 3-5 p.m. with a 5 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral service in the church on Monday.
INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore.
