Florence Larson

January 31, 1915 — October 26, 2015

Florence Eleanor Tweed Larson, Larimore, ND, age 100, passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Society-Larimore, and is now with her beloved Savior.

Florence was born to Louis and Ginna GudmundsonTweed January 31, 1915 on a farm near Pekin North Dakota where she attended country school. Florence moved to Brainerd Minnesota to attend high school while living with family relatives. While walking home from high school a young man named Maurice Larson asked if he could walk her home. This was the beginning of a lifelong true love story. They were married April 21, 1940 in Fargo North Dakota. Living in Brainerd Minnesota, Maurice worked in his father’s grocery store until WWII during which time they moved to Bremerton Washington where Maurice worked in the Navy shipyards.
Their daughter Jacqueline Terry was born there in 1943. Following the war, they returned to Brainerd where their son Myron was born.
Following the grocery store path, the family moved to Baudette Minnesota for a short time until Florence and Lars had an opportunity to purchase and operate their own grocery store in Larimore North Dakota. This is where the family settled for its duration. Florence and Lars developed a strong connection in Larimore. They were devoted to their business, customers and community. When Larimore put in its golf course, Florence was quick to become hooked and pulled Lars in.
In Larimore, Florence and Lars became involved in starting the volunteer ambulance service.

Florence was preceded in death by husband Maurice 1996, six brothers and one sister.

Florence in survived by: Daughter Terry Gillette and husband Dennis of Spokane Washington, grand daughter Kristen Gillette, Lisa Noland Husband Kevin, and great grand daughter Ava Noland, great grandson Miles Noland. Son Myron Larson and wife Joanne of Yuba City California, grandson Paul and wife Janice, great grandson's
Coleman and Evan and great grand daughter Elise. Grand daughter Patty and husband Greg Peters, great grandson Sawyer and Great granddaughter Emma; and one brother Reuben Tweed.
