Gary Ronald Olson, 75, Larimore, ND, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 at home, surrounded by his loving family, after a 6 month battle with cancer.

Gary was born August 26, 1940 in Northwood, ND, to David and Bernice (Peterson) Olson and grew up on a farm in Adler Township. He graduated from Larimore High School and Wahpeton School of Science.

Gary married Bonnie Brorby on March 2, 1963 in Choteau, MT. He worked and traveled with Boeing Aircraft for 7 years returning to the Larimore area in 1969. Gary worked for UND for 3 years, the Grand Forks Airbase for assorted colleges, and retired from the Good Samaritan Nursing Home after 29 years as their sole maintenance personnel.

Gary enjoyed farming, spending time at Rollag, working on old tractors, camping with family and friends, and an occasional trip to the casino.

Gary is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bonnie; and four children: Robin Skow (Mike Bodin) of Larimore; Jeff of Williston, ND; Jill Olson (David Schoff) of Hunter and Cindy Olson of Larimore; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother Wayne (Josie), NM; sister Sandra Richter, FL; brothers: Roger (Brenda), Larimore; Larry (Ruth), MN; and Scott (Peri), NV.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

VISITATION will be from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16 at Bakke Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the service in the church Thursday.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Thursday, September 17 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Larimore.

INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore.
