Gertrude Mareke Krueger, 92, entered God’s eternal Kingdom on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center, Larimore, ND.
Gertie was born October 7, 1920 to Seede and Anna (Herman) Hanssen. She was baptized into Christ’s death as an infant, and confirmed her faith in Christ at rural St. Andrew Lutheran Church and has been an active member for life. She attended Plymouth grade school at rural Niagara and High School in town.
She married William (Bill) Krueger in 1941. They lived and farmed the Krueger home place all their lives.
Gertie taught Sunday School, was a 4-H leader, and active in Homemakers. She was a wonderful seamstress, doll maker, quilter, and she crafted dozens of Hardanger doilies and several table cloths, until now.
She was a neat homemaker, a loving wife and mother. She enjoyed her gardening and flowers.
She appreciated her care at Good Sam, and was active in their functions, and served as treasurer for bingo. She also took an interest in the caregivers and their families.
She is survived by her son: Raymond who farms the home place; daughters: Marian “Sue” (Dennis) Neels, Niagara and Patricia Solbakken, Fargo. Grandchildren: Rebecca (Kyran) Haselhan of Williams Lake, B.C., Canada; Elizabeth (Sam) Rahberg, St. Paul, MN; and Andrew Neels, Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho.
