Gilma Schmidt

Gilma Schmidt, age 91, of Larimore and formerly Petersburg, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 of Covid-19, at the Good Samaritan Society-Larimore.

Gilma was born October 7, 1929 at Pine River, WI, the daughter of Gilbert and Edna (Peterson) Georgeson.  Gilma was united in marriage to Kenneth Schmidt on September 2, 1950 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Niagara, ND.  The couple lived and farmed near Petersburg, ND.  Mr. Schmidt preceded her in death on June 16, 2012.

Surviving members of her family include  her children:  Harvey (Kathy) Schmidt, Apache Junction, AZ; Diane Blasey, East Grand Forks and Donna Beard, Larimore; 8 grandchildren:  David, Danielle, Scott, Shaunda, Jessica, Jason, Justin and Jeffrey; 12 great-grandchildren:  Nathan, Paige, Kaydra, Kaylee, Kenley, Grace, Madysyn, Seth, Sidney, Rocca, Tayte and Reese; sister-in-law:  Janice Schmidt; brothers-in-law:  Ervy (Judy) Schmidt, Lloyd (Dorcas) Schmidt; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son: Victor; 2 daughters-in-law:  Bonnie Schmidt, Dorothy Schmidt; granddaughter:  Sheila Schmidt Lund, infant sister: Hannah; sister: Barbara; and her brother: Frank.

A PRIVATE FAMILY FUNERAL SERVICE will be held Friday, December 4 in the Bakke Funeral Chapel, Larimore with Rev. Michael Suelzle officiating.

BURIAL:  St. Andrew Lutheran Cemetery, Niagara, ND.
