Niagara

Christ is Risen.  He is risen, Indeed!  Alleluia!

God says, “There is a time to be born.”  Harold Herman Wolfgram was born in Niagara, ND, on April 1st, 1933 to Herman and Ella Wolfgram.  He was the fourth of eight children – Theodore (died in infancy), Lawrence, Corrine (Kroonblawd), Leonard, Wesley, Ronald and Claudia Wolfgram.

Jesus says, “Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”  Harold was baptized in the death and resurrection of Jesus on April 23 rd , 1933.

Jesus says, “Whoever confesses me before men, I will confess him before my Father in heaven.”  Harold confessed his faith in Jesus through the Rite of Confirmation on April 14 th , 1946 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Niagara.

God says, “It is not good for the man to be alone.  I will make a helper suitable for him.”  Harold married Harriet Olson on June 1, 1963 at Concordia Lutheran Church, rural Bagley, MN.  They spent their married life on the family farm outside of Niagara, ND.  They were blessed with three wonderful children:  Kerwin (Sue), Lester (Denise) and Miriam (David) Phillips and with three grandchildren, Andrew (Cassie), Grace, and Dane Wolfgram.

The Bible says, “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might.”  Except for serving in active duty in the army, stationed in Korea from 1954-55, Harold was part of a farming partnership with his brothers, Leonard and Wesley.  Harold was also very active at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Niagara, Lutheran Hour Ministries, and in the community.

God says, “There is a time to die.”  Harold died on Saturday morning, July 6th, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home at the age of 86 years.

Harold is survived by his wife, Harriet, children, Kerwin (Sue), Lester (Denise), and

Miriam (David) Phillips, grandchildren, Andrew (Cassie), Grace, and Dane Wolfgram.  Siblings, Lawrence (Dorothy), Corrine Kroonblawd, Leonard (Betty), Wesley (Emmy), and Claudia Wolfgram, sisters-in-law Gloria Torgrimson and Mavis Wolfgram, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Ella Wolfgram, siblings, Theodore Wolfgram and Ronald Wolfgram, brothers-in-law Bill Kroonblawd and Roland Torgrimson.

Harold was also preceded in death by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who conquered death and the grave on Easter Sunday.  Jesus says, “I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live even though he dies.  And whoever lives and believes in me will never die.”  Jesus says, “Be thou faithful unto death and I will give you the crown of life.”  Christ is risen!  He is risen, indeed!  Alleluia!

FUNERAL SERVICES:  10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church, Niagara.

VISITATION:  Tuesday, July 9 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore.  Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Wednesday.

INTERMENT:  St. Andrew Lutheran Cemetery, rural Niagara.

MILITARY HONORS:  John Larson Post 247 of the Petersburg American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Team
