HARVEY LEWIS HOLWEGER
Harvey Lewis Holweger, age 82, resident of Grand Forks, ND, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks.
Harvey was born August 3, 1930 in Arvilla, ND, the middle of five children to Samuel and Lucille (Sauer) Holweger. He attended Wheatfield Country School and later went on to Park River Ag School. Harvey was united in marriage to Marilyn Bradshaw at the Gilby Presbyterian Church June 26, 1951. They resided near Inkster, ND. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Inkster,ND where he served on the Church Council. He also served on the Midway School Board. Harvey farmed and was employed by Ryan Farms, Bradshaw Gravel, Trosen Implement and Dickson Farms.
They moved to Grand Forks in 1993. In retirement, he enjoyed playing cards and putting puzzles together with his friends at the Parkview Terrace. He also enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years Marilyn; five daughters: Cindy Holweger of Grand Forks; Cathy Holweger of Grand Forks, Cheryl (Ron) Hoime of Arvilla, Colleen (Larry) Behm of Niagara, Cam (Chuck) Behm of Arvilla; one son Rick (Barb) Holweger of Crookston, MN; eight grandchildren: Alex (Laura) Hoime, Adam (Jennifer) Hoime, Daniel Hoime, Bryce Behm, Caleb Behm, Kylie (Jory) Nissen, Kelly Behm, Roslyn (Kevin) Breyfogle; seven great grandchildren: Thomas Hoime, Carter Hoime, Kayden Hoime, Gavin Hoime, Kamryn Nissen, Hazel Condit, Adelyn Condit; brother Dennis Holweger, Camarilla, CA; sister-in-law: Charlotte “Emmy” Holweger of Aguanga, CA; step-mother: Geneva Holweger of Bremerton, WA; and several nieces and nephews.
Harvey was preceded in death by his parents; Sam and Lucille Holweger; brothers: Duane, Ronald, and Lyle; sisters-in-law: Betty, Shirley, and Carol Holweger; and nephew David Holweger.
