Hazel Nygaard

Hazel Gladys Nygaard, age 94, of Hatton, ND formerly Northwood passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Hatton Prairie Village.
Hazel Christianson was born August 20, 1919 to Herman and Clara (Rud) Christianson. She graduated from Sharon High School in 1937. She was united in marriage to Iddo Nygaard on September 22, 1946 at Gran Lutheran Church near Mayville, ND.
She lived fifty-eight years on the Nygaard family farm near Northwood until she moved to Hatton in 2004. Hazel’s hobbies included various crafts and crocheting along with word search puzzles.
Hazel and Iddo were long-time members of the Minnesota Steam Threshers at Rollag, Minnesota, the Sons of Norway and Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood.
Hazel is survived by one brother, Earl (Mayville) , one sister, Ruth (Norman) Lyndaas,(Everett, WA) along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Iddo, six brothers, Leonard, Axel, Elmer, JeRoy, Jerome, Kenneth, and one sister, Myrtle Fishbien.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Northwood Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northwood with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Northwood Cemetery.
