Ilah Sullivan

Ilah Jean (Schol) Sullivan, of Larimore, ND, passed away at Altru Hospital on Thursday, April 21, 2016 surrounded by her family.


Ilah was born November 20, 1942 to William and Margaret Schol in Northwood, ND. She attended grade school at Avon District #40 rural school and graduated from Northwood High School.


Ilah married her loving husband, Pat, on September 26, 1960 in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She was very dedicated to him and to raising their five children. She did home daycare until their youngest attended school. She then joined the Larimore Elementary School system - first as a paraprofessional and then as the school administrative assistant. For 37 years she thoroughly enjoyed being with her co-workers and parents - but mostly looked forward to seeing the students.


Ilah enjoyed watching the UND hockey games and Friday night races with her husband. They also enjoyed camping together. Ilah loved attending all school activities for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook, baker, seamstress/quilter and available anytime to listen to you. Her laugh, smile and hugs will truly be missed by all. Heaven truly gained one beautiful angel!


Ilah is survived by her loving husband Pat, Larimore; sons Ben (Wendy) Sullivan, Larimore; Jim Sullivan, Larimore; Brad (Liz) Sullivan, Grand Forks; and daughters LeeIla (Keith) Drees, Emerado; Anjie (Rob) Steffen, Arvilla; 9 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 4 step great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers John (Mae) Schol, Visalia, CA and Mike Schol, Northwood, ND; sisters Patricia (Jack) Fountain, Startup, WA; and Nancy (John) Roden, Lynnwood, WA.


Ilah was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bob Schol.


MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL is Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Larimore, ND (10:00 - 11:00 visitation).


Prayer Service is Friday, April 29, 2016 at 7:00 pm at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Larimore, ND (5:00 - 7:00 visitation).
