Jacklyn Earl Halstenson of Niagara, ND age 76 died September 22, 2022.

Jack was born to Earl & Arabelle (Haddow) Halstenson on July 15, 1946. He was baptized and confirmed at Elk Valley Lutheran Church, where he was a lifelong member. Jack graduated from Unity High School and attended NDSU before returning to farm. Jack was drafted into the US Army in 1966, serving until 1968.

Jack married the love of his life Gloria Broten, July 23, 1971. They were blessed with 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Jack valued spending time with his family. They were his pride & joy.

After farming for several years, he attended East Grand Forks Technical College, graduating in parts & service. He had an auto parts delivery route for many years and then was employed at D&M Distributing in Grand Forks until his retirement in 2016. He enjoyed his fellow employees and customers making sure they had a smile and a cookie to go.

Jack loved people and enjoyed learning family history, reading & photography. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Jack is survived by his wife Gloria; daughter Heidi (Scott) Rohrich; sons Timothy Halstenson, Lowell (Melissa) Halstenson & Matthew Halstenson; grandchildren Tanner Rohrich, Meghan Rohrich, Sean Halstenson, Tyler Halstenson & Silas Halstenson; sister Barbara (Rick) Gannarelli; mother-in-law Dorothy Broten; sisters-in-law Helen (Larry) Entze, Joanne Roblewsky, Margie Halstenson; brother-in-law Ernest Broten and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruth Barry, brothers Juel Halstenson & Rodney Halstenson and niece Angela Barry.

FUNERAL SERVICES:  11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 27 at Elk Valley Lutheran Church of rural McCanna.

VISITATION:  Monday, September 26 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service in the church.

INTERMENT:  Elk Valley Church Cemetery.

MILITARY HONORS:  W. L. Cowper Post 238 of the Michigan American Legion and the North Dakota Army National Guard Honor Team.
