James Hemmingsen

James Clarence Hemmingsen, age 89 of Larimore, ND passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society-Larimore.

James was born April 6, 1928 at McCanna, ND, the son of Frode and Cora (Nelson) Hemmingsen. He attended school in rural McCanna and graduated from Larimore High School.

James was united in marriage to Beverly Ann Conrad on October, 3 1948 at Elm Grove Lutheran Church. After their marriage the couple lived and farmed in the McCanna Area. James enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, singing, but mostly horses. James was an active member of Elm Grove Church, served on the McCanna Elevator Board, Elm Grove Township Board and the Bachelors Grove Saddle Club.

Surviving members of his family include his son Jesse (Donna) Hemmingsen, Livingston, MT; grandchildren: Michael (Jacob) Hemmingsen, Alto, MI and Kelli (Zach) Roberts, Gardner, KS; great grandchildren: Conrad Hemmingsen, Declan Hemmingsen and Tatum Roberts; sister-in-law: Beatrice Hemmingsen, Grand Forks, ND and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Bev, son Conrad, brother Donald and infant sister Ruth Marie.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 9th, 2018 at Elm Grove Lutheran Church of rural McCanna, ND.

VISITATION: Thursday, March 8 from 6-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service in the church Friday.

INTERMENT: Elm Grove Church Cemetery.
