Joan Georgeson

Joan L. Georgeson, age 77, of Larimore, ND, entered into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, June 7, 2017.

Joan Lucille Werpy was born December 14, 1939 in Ada, MN, the daughter of Guy and Vera (Sannes) Werpy. She attended Gary, MN, High School, graduating in 1958. Joan met Ed Georgeson, on a blind date, in 1961, and they were married June 1, 1962.

Joan was active with the ladies aide at Bethel Church and the “Red Hat Society”. She enjoyed bowling and golfing, but most of all, quilting. Hundreds of quilts have been made and donated over the years, every one of them being “made with love”.

She is survived by her husband Ed of 55 years; daughter Debra (Werpy) Nelson, Crookston, MN; son Ross (Bonnie) Georgeson, Larimore; 6 grandchildren: April, Adam, Janafer, Jessica, Brittany and Renee; 4 great grandchildren: Lexie, Bennett, Hailey and Kendall; brothers: Lowell (Bea) Werpy, Gene (Bonnie) Werpy and sister Shirley Kappes.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Harvey Werpy.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Bethel Lutheran Church of rural Larimore.

VISITATION: Monday, June 12 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Tuesday.

INTERMENT: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, ND
