JoAnn M. Opdahl, 86 formerly of Grand Forks, ND, passed away Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Center in Larimore.
JoAnn was born January 14, 1931 to Charles and Mary (Darling) Dunnigan in Walhalla, ND. She was raised in rural Walhalla and attended Walhalla High School. She was united in marriage to Mel Opdahl May 9, 1961.
After her husband’s death, JoAnn worked in Medical Records at Altru Hospital until her retirement in 1996. She continued to volunteer at Altru for several more years.
Her great loves in life were her grandkids, music, dancing, and Fighting Sioux Hockey.
JoAnn is survived by her daughter Melinda Landman and her husband Andy of Larimore, granddaughter Kaitlin (Nathaniel) Lockett of Grand Forks, grandson Jace Landman of Larimore, sisters-in-law Elaine Dunnigan of Langdon, Eileen Dunnigan of Grand Forks, Florence Kotrba of East Grand Forks, MN and many beloved nieces and nephews.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Maurice, Joe, Jack and Ted, and sisters Agnes Meece, Ruth Meece, and Bonnie Farrell.
MASS OF CHRISITAN BURIAL: 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 12 at the Good Samaritan Society Chapel in Larimore.
VISITATION: One hour prior to the service.
