JOANNE SLUKE
Joanne Sluke passed away at Altru Hospital Grand Forks, ND on October 22, 2013. She was born on October 22, 1936 on a farm near Conway, ND. Her parents were Joseph and Marcella (Coughlin) Foerster. She married Lynn Sluke in Park River, ND on February 26, 1955. They lived on the Sluke farm near Fordville, ND their entire married life. She attended grade school in Conway and graduated from Fordville High School in 1953. She worked as secretary at the Walsh County Agricultural School in Park River for three years and as Library Aide at the Fordville and Fordville-Lankin High School for thirty two years, retiring November of 1999. She was a member of the Fordville Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her Husband of 58 years, five sons - David (Mary) Sluke of Grafton, Dale (Denise) Sluke of Fordville, Daniel (Nedra) Sluke of Minot, Marcel (Lisa) Sluke of West Fargo and Michael Sluke of West Fargo; daughter-in-law Alison Sluke of West Fargo; Eleven grandchildren – Kari (Ryan) Edmondson of Seattle WA, Jennifer Sluke of Seattle WA, Lori (Elliot) Steinbrink of West Fargo, Deanne (Taif) Trieglaff of West Fargo, Dustin (Andrea) Sluke of Fordville, Preston and Marissa Sluke of Fordville, Courtney (Justin) Traeger of Minot, Amber Sluke of Minot, Andrea and Brendan Sluke of West Fargo; Great grandchildren – Emma, Adrena, Sonja, Jolynn, Ayden and Rylan; sister Donna Kotaska of Thief River Falls. Preceding her in death were her parents, brother-in-law John Kotaska and Sister Shirley (Bruce) Morstad.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm on Thursday Oct 24 with prayer service at 7pm at Fordville Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be 11am Friday Oct 25 at the Fordville Lutheran Church followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery at Fordville.
