Karen Landeis Jenson

Karen (Landeis) Jenson, 76, passed away surrounded by her loving family on September 19, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Larimore, ND.

Karen Machovsky was born on November 25, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN to Laddie and Sheila (Casement) Machovsky.  She was raised in Inkster, ND, where she attended Inkster High School.  On February 20, 1960, Karen married the love of her life, Marvin Landeis. Together they raised 3 children- Angel, Kathy, and Shawn in Orr, ND.   Some of her favorite memories were traveling South with her family to custom combine.  Her true blessings were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She loved spending her time with them baking, having pillow fights, and teaching them how to play Kings-in-the-Corner.

Karen remained in Orr after Marvin passed away in August 2000.  On May 15, 2004, Karen married Dennis Jenson, Manvel, ND.  They lived in Manvel until retirement and then moved to Erskine, MN.  In March 2017, they moved to Larimore, ND to be closer to her family.

She is survived by her mother, Sheila Machovsky, Larimore, ND; husband, Dennis Jenson, Fisher, MN; daughters Angel Houska, Roseau, MN, and Kathy (John) Hemmingsen, Larimore ND; son Shawn (Debbie) Landeis, Forest River, ND; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; sisters Vicky Bakke, Larimore, ND and Debbie Danner, Little Elm, TX; and brothers Danny (Vicky) Machovsky, Mentor, MN, Dallas Machovsky, Dickinson, ND;  and Ricky (Doug) Carlton, Oklahoma City, OK; Garrett (Nancy) Jenson, Fisher, MN; Brad (Merry) Jenson, Manvel, ND; Tracy Jenson, Grand Forks, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Landeis; father, Laddie Machovsky; son-in-law Charles (Chuck) Houska; sister, Janice Cantu; and brother, Larry Machovsky.

Visitation will be from 11:30 AM -1:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Bakke Funeral Home, Larimore, ND.

Interment following the service at Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore, ND.
