Lois Peterson

Lois D. Peterson, 70, of Larimore, ND passed away on October 26 ^th 2022 peacefully surrounded by her loving husband.  Lois Darlene Johnson was born on March 14, 1952 in Northwood, ND, to Lloyd and Doris (Ressler Thompson) Johnson.

Lois grew up in Finley, ND and then moved to Larimore, ND where she graduated in May of 1970.  She went on to attend Aakers Business College in Grand Forks and graduated in 1971.

Lois married her best friend Jerry Peterson on the 29 ^th of October 1971 at Our Saviors Luther Church in Larimore with Reverend Wilbur Fisher officiating.

Jerry and Lois moved to Tacoma, WA for Jerry to finish his tour with the Army.  They returned to Larimore in April of 1972 where they have resided since.

Lois worked as the City Auditor of Larimore until 1994.  In May of 1995 she started working at NoDak Electric until retiring in 2016.  She loved most of the employees past and present, you guys made her years there magical and thanks to all.

Lois had many passions with family always being the most important.  She enjoyed knitting her famous dish rags, playing rummy with great friend, the occasional trip to the casino and of course bowling, where she won the ND Queens tournament handicapped division twice.

Lois and Jerry were blessed with two sons, Darrin and Cory.  They were her pride and joy.  She would do most anything for them.

Lois is survived by her Husband Jerry of 50 years.   Sons Darrin and Cory.  Brothers Harlan (Rita) Johnson Parshall, ND, Dennis (Mel) Johnson Tulsa, OK, Vernon (Marcia) Thompson Plymouth, MN, Sister in law Janice Thompson Audubon, MN. Three wonderful and amazing grandchildren. Karter, Crosby and Berkeley, which she loved to the moon and back.  Along with very special friends Kathy Ready, Alta Hallof and Raenelle Sorensen.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Norris Thompson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday,  November 4, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore with Pastor Raenelle Sorensen officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to service.

A celebration of life will be at Good Friends in Larimore following burial at Bellevue Cemetery in Larimore.
