Lucille Novak

Lucille Novak, age 90, of Grand Forks and formerly of Fordville, ND, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Lucille was born October 4, 1927 at Fordville, the daughter of Elden and Alice (McKeith) Ridgway. She was raised and grew to womanhood at Fordville, where she received her public education. She had a special relationship with her uncle and aunt, Claude and Etta Kelly. After high school she attended college and then taught for a short time in Park River, ND.

Lucille was united in marriage to Herman Novak on June 23, 1947 at Fordville. After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed, which included Lucille driving truck during harvest, until 1981, when they moved into Fordville. Mr. Novak preceded her in death on March 10, 1992.

Lucille was a lifelong member of the Fordville Presbyterian Church and active in the Ladies Aid and had a strong devotion to her Christian faith. She was a member of the Jolly Country Homemakers. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and baking, and loved playing cards. She also enjoyed attending and watching sporting events. Lucille especially liked spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.

Surviving members of her family include her daughters: Joan (Joel) Berkas, Mounds View, MN; Nancy (Richard) Hodny, Plainview, MN, Cheryl (Dean) Feltman, Grafton; her son: Donn, Fargo; grandchildren: Jason Berkas, Jill Berkas, Jeff Berkas, Jana (Doug) Holst, Travis (Rachael) Hodny, Ryan Feltman, Jordan (Becky) Feltman and Zachary Feltman; great grandchildren: Morgan, Madelyn, Carter and Isaac Holst and Olivia Hodny and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters: Hazel Pfannsmith and Alice Hulst; brothers: Guy, Walter, Harry, Claude and Daniel.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 9 in the Havig-Heen Auditorium at Valley 4000 Memorial Home in Grand Forks.

VISITATION will begin at 10 a.m.

INTERMENT: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville, ND
