Margaret Omdahl

MARGARET OMDAHL Margaret Omdahl, age 92, of Grand Forks, ND, formerly of Conway, ND, passed away, Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks. Margaret was born June 17, 1919 to Peter and Alice (Bina) Foerster on their farm in Ops Township, Walsh County. She grew up in Conway, ND, and on the farm in the Pisek-Conway area. She attended High School in Pisek, ND. On August 6, 1941 she married Harris Omdahl. The couple made their home in Conway. A lifelong housewife, Margaret was active in the St. Mark’s Catholic Church of Conway Altar Society; Homemakers and TOPS. After Harris passed away on May 8, 1996, she moved to Grand Forks where she was active in the Holy Family Catholic Church Altar Society and at Valley Memorial Homes. A woman of deep faith, who lived it by quiet example, she always had a sweet smile and willing conversation for anyone. She loved working in her large flower garden, taking long walks with her dog, and especially enjoyed the company of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving members of her family include her daughter: Hope (Robert) Kelm, Rowlett, Texas; sons: Elwood (Julie) Omdahl, Grand Forks and Robert (Tonya) Omdahl, Fargo; 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and her sister: Barbara Melicher, Grand Forks. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son: Lawrence, son: Harlan and brothers; Lawrence, Raymond and Arthur.
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church of Grand Forks.
VISITATION: Friday, June 8 from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held at St. Anne’s Guest Home in Grand Forks. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral mass in the church on Saturday.
