Marjorie Ann Viola Mcmahon

Marjorie Ann Viola McMahon, age 95, Larimore, ND passed away January 19, 2018 at the Northwood Deaconess Health Center where she resided since September of 2013.

Marge was born January 19th, 1923 in Northwood, ND, the daughter of Gus and Myrtle (Olson) Carlson. She attended and graduated from Northwood High School. On January 4, 1944 she married Michael McMahon in Larimore, ND. Mike was then stationed in Homestead, Florida where she worked at a local drug store. When the war was over they returned to Bachelors Grove to the family farm where they raised three children. They moved to Larimore in 1977.

During their 70 years together, Mike and Marge enjoyed traveling to all 50 states with many dear friends. Marge was a lifetime member of the Bachelors Grove Homemakers Club, the Larimore American Legion Auxillary and a member of the St. Stephen’s Catholic Church. She also enjoyed bowling, golfing and supper club with friends.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were a very important part of her life and she thoroughly enjoyed every minute of her time with them.

Marge is survived by her son Greg (Joan) McMahon, Larimore, daughters Bonnie (Arnold) Bartelson, Grand Forks and Judy (Ray) Leddige, Reynolds; grandchildren: Nicole Shelton, Jeff McMahon, Mike Johnson, Meghan St. Peter, Paul McMahon, Jon Leddige and Lacey Zahradka; great grandchildren: McKenzi Shelton, Sydni Shelton, Connor Johnson, Kinlee Johnson, Brett Dubois, Morghain Comer, Drew McMahon, Gabriel McMahon, Kylie St. Peter, Whitney St. Peter, Kady St. Peter, Aiden St. Peter, Annabelle McMahon, Logan McMahon and Millie Zahradka; great great grandchild: Ryan Dubois; sisters: Patsy Bjoralt, Fern Virden and brother Toby Carlson.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Mike, brother, Floyd Carlson, Skip Carlson, Fred Carlson and sisters, Mendora Thorsell and Donna Knudsvig.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 23 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Larimore.

VISITATION: Monday, January 22 from 6-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the service in the church on Tuesday.

RITE OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Bellevue Cemetery, Larimore.
