Marsha A. Williamson, age 78 of Larimore, ND, passed away on Saturday, December 18 th , 2021 at Altru Medical Center under the care of Red River Valley Hospice.
Marsha Ann (Dobson) Williamson was born on September 17, 1943, in Cut Bank, Montana to Ernest and Selma (Fevold) Dobson. She was raised in Van Hook and New Town, North Dakota, where she graduated from high school in 1961. She married Leo William Williamson in September of 1961, and they were stationed in Abilene, KS while he finished his commitment to the Army. The following year, they moved back to New Town where they worked on Lake Sakakawea, doing commercial fishing in the summer and harvesting ice in the winter. In 1964 they moved to Jamestown, where Leo took a job at the ND Game and Fish Department. While in Jamestown, Marsha worked as a librarian at the high school and as a secretary for the Federal Aviation Administration. In 1974, Marsha moved to Larimore and began a rewarding 32 year career with the Civil Service at the Grand Forks Air Force Base. She worked mainly in Government Contracting. She earned several awards, including Civilian of the Year and Contractor of the Year and was recognized for her leadership abilities and work ethic by distinguished military personnel.
Marsha loved to bowl, golf, play cards and spend time with her family and friends. She will be remembered as a kind, generous soul with a fondness for Franzia White Zin.
Marsha is survived by her three children: Mark Williamson, Larimore, ND, Shelane (Jon) Hoverson, Lake Park, MN, and Leon Williamson, Larimore, ND; grandchildren David (Jessica) Williamson, Rachel Williamson, Kellie Hoverson, Cass Hoverson and Jamie Hoverson, Erica Miller, Dillan Williamson and Madison Williamson, as well as 7 great grandchildren, a sister-in-law and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her only brother, Kenneth, of Jamestown, ND.
Her Celebration of Life will be held at the Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore, ND on Friday, December 24 th , at 11 a.m. with Rev. Rena Peterson officiating. Visitation with the family will be at 10 am. Fellowship afterwards at Willy’s at 114 E Main Street in Larimore.
