Marvin Jemtrud

Marvin Jemtrud, age 92, of Larimore, ND, passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2025 in Altru Hospital, Grand Forks.

Marvin was born June 29, 1932, the son of Leonard and Eldora (Armstrong) Jemtrud, at Mylo, ND.  The family moved to Devils Lake where he graduated from high school.  Marvin served in the U. S. Army from 1952-1954 serving in Korea for 13 months. He graduated from Mayville State College and his first teaching position was at Warwick.  The last 26 years of teaching were in Larimore.  He also worked at Minnkota Power and with the North Dakota State Highway Department.

Marvin enjoyed sports; playing, coaching and watching.  Hunting and fishing were also enjoyed.  In later years, he enjoyed trips to visit family in Canada, Kentucky and Kansas.

Marvin is survived by his wife Lois; and children: Michael (Natalie), Scott (Jamie) and Sandra (Eric Nydick).

Services will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Larimore on Saturday, May 17 at 10 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30.

Burial with military honors will be in Our Savior’s Cemetery at Harlow,  ND.
