Marvin “Tam” Skibicki, age 79, of Fordville, ND, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home.
Marvin “Tam” Skibicki was born April 2, 1934 at Fordville, ND, the son of Stanley and Mathilda (Holwerda) Skibicki. He was raised and grew to manhood at Fordville and received his education at a rural Fordville school. He served in the United States Army from December 1, 1954 to November 9, 1956. After receiving his Honorable Discharge he returned to Fordville. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for several years. Marvin married Laurel Wood on September 26, 1959 at Niagara, ND. The couple made their home at Fordville.
Marvin was a member of the Fordville Lutheran Church. He was an active member of the Rotnem-Abel Post No. 274 of the Fordville American Legion and an active member of the Fordville Fire Department.
Surviving members of his family include his wife Laurel; children: Michelle (Ryan) Kuester, Fullerton, CA; Greg (Janelle) Skibicki, Fordville; Alison (Michael) Sluke, West Fargo, ND; Grant (Amy) Skibicki, Fordville and Stuart (Katy) Skibicki, Lusk, WY; Grandchildren: Jennifer, Ezra and Evan Skibicki; Nicolle and Nathan Kuester; Andrea and Brendan Sluke; Addison and Lily Skibicki, and Sophie Skibicki; Great Grandson: Hudson Jallo; sisters: Arlene Vein, Grand Forks; Dorothy Smestad, Fordville; and brothers: Harold Skibicki, Grand Forks and Donald Skibicki, Hibbing, MN.
FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the Fordville Lutheran Church in Fordville.
VISITATION: From 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 26 at the Bakke Funeral Home in Fordville.
PRIVATE BURIAL will be held prior to the funeral in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville, with the Rotnem-Abel Post No. 274 of the Fordville American Legion and the North Dakota National Guard providing Military Honors.
