Mary Ellen Cutshaw

Mary Ellen Cutshaw, age 67, of Reynolds, ND, went peacefully into the arms of her Savior at Sanford Hospital in Fargo on July 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Mary Ellen was born on October 9, 1947 in Grand Forks, ND to Clifford and Viola (Kemnitz) Veitch, Emerado,ND.

She was raised in Emerado,ND where many family gathering and holidays were a huge event. Their home was always the gathering place for many family and friends. She raised sheep as a young girl and couldn’t resist taking in stray animals. She attended school in Emerado and Larimore, later she attended NDSSS in Wahpeton obtaining her certificate in LPN training.

The majority of her life she spent cooking for others. She worked at area restaurants and schools. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Making candies was a favorite of hers. She was always up for entertaining, playing cards and “telling stories” with friends and family, you were always welcome when you stopped by.

She married Willie Cutshaw, the love of her life in Warren, MN. They resided in Emerado, ND and raised their two sons. After his return from deployment to Saudi Arabia he became ill and passed away in July of 1991.

She moved to Reynolds,ND with her mother where she was the care provider for her and many others over the years.

She is survived by her sons Chad (Janie) Cutshaw, Grand Forks, ND. Mark (Holly) Cutshaw, Reynolds, ND. Grandchildren Noelle and Grace Cutshaw, Reynolds, ND. Reece (Melissa) Richards, Fargo,ND, Jeremy (Betsey) Aasen, Thompson,ND, Jen (Adam) Bohlman, Thompson,ND, Bryce Stevens, Bismarck,ND. Great grandchildren Averie and Landon Geatz and Gretta Aasen all of Thompson, ND. Her cousin that was more like her sister, Janice Sauer, Emerado, ND and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and grandparents, brother Harold Veitch, sisters Margaret Horken and Betty Baker, all of her aunts and uncles as well as many others.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Ascension Lutheran Church in Emerado.

VISITATION: Thursday, July 16 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 pm. Prayer service held in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Friday.

INTERMENT: Sunset Prairie Cemetery, Emerado.
