Mary Sears

Mary Margaret Sears, 77, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on May 28, 2021, at Northwood Deaconess Health Center, in Northwood. Mary was born on January 8, 1944, and grew up in Box Elder, SD. She retired from the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) after 31 years of living and working in many places. She chose North Dakota as her home more than 20 years ago. Mary was active in her community and spent much of her time in recent years volunteering and serving on the Board of the Grand Forks Senior Center.

Mary is survived by her son, Deron Ochs, and daughter, Kasey Ochs. She has five grandchildren, Kevin Cardwell, Calob and Kassidy Sears, Mikala Ochs and Caitlyne Harp. Mary also has three great-grandchildren, Brock Cardwell, Harlee Sears and Elizabeth Harp. Mary was also loved by her sister-in-law, Trudy Fitzhenry, her son-in-law, Ronald K. Cardwell, and Tosha and Jeremy Ouren. Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Claude (Pete) Sears, Jr., her son, Bradley Sears, her daughter, Tracy Cardwell, her brother, Mike Fitzhenry, and her parents, James (Jim) and Alvena Fitzhenry.

Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2021 in the Bakke Funeral Chapel, Larimore.
