Mary Trosen

Mary Catherine Trosen, 74, of Fordville, ND passed away Saturday, May 9th at Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota. After a courageous battle with cancer she was reunited in heaven with her Husband and Soul-mate, Harris.
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother, Mary Vernes was born on October 20th 1940 to John and Agnes Vernes in Gilby, ND. She graduated from Gilby High School in 1958. Mary married Harris Trosen on November 11th 1958. After living in Gilby and Grafton, ND for a short time, they settled in Fordville, ND in 1966. She and Harris spent their next 55 years together dedicated to each other and their four children. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and was very dedicated to her Faith. She also enjoyed playing cards and doing crosswords puzzles in her free time.
Mary is survived by Sons: Michael (Bobbi) of Miller, SD, Jeffery (Susan) of West Fargo, ND, Mark (Lori) of West Fargo, ND; Daughter: Cheri Luchsinger of Kansas City, MO; Grandsons: Preston (Carrie), Alex, and Nathan; Granddaughters: Sommer, Marissa, Alyssa, Madeline Mary, Molly, and Alexis; Great-granddaughters: MeKaya Catherine and Everly; Sisters: Betty (John) Kauk of Bad Medicine Lake, MN and Nancy (Terry) Kammerman of Batavia, Ill; Brother-in-laws: Richard Carlson of Grand Forks, ND and Harold Trosen of Lake Park, MN; and many Nieces and Nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her Husband Harris, her Sister Ann, and her parents Agnes and John.


A prayer service will be held for Mary at Bakke Funeral Home in Fordville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12th.

Mass with Christian burial will be Wednesday, May 13th at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Park River, ND with Interment to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Fordville.
