Nancy Ellertson, age 71, of Grand Forks, ND, passed away on Monday, May 18, 2020 at her daughter’s home in East Grand Forks, MN.

Nancy Gayle Adamson was born on October 8, 1948 to Leslie Gordon and Dorothy Mabel (Cooper) Adamson.  She was raised in Petersburg, ND where her parents owned the Adamson Lumber Hardware Store.  Nancy graduated from Unity High School in 1966.  While growing up, she was active in school activities such as band, pep squad, theater and was her senior class homecoming queen.  Upon graduation, Nancy attended the University of North Dakota.  Soon thereafter, she welcomed her first child.  In the years following, Nancy added four additional children to her family.  While she balanced motherhood and career, Nancy pursued a lifelong love of learning.  She found her true calling in serving as a sales executive for advertising.  Later in life, Nancy discovered a passion for truck driving.  She obtained her CDL and drove truck on the side during the harvest season.  Nancy made many lasting friendships along her life’s journey both personally and professionally.  Nancy also had a love for all animals, and spent most of her life raising dogs, cats, and horses.  Nancy is survived by her children: Anthony (Shari Reidlinger) Ellertson, Marnie (Dean) Tapson, Amanda (Richard) Denault, Darcie Ellertson (Ryan Hagen), 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

A private service will be held on Wednesday, May 27 at Hope Evangelical Covenant Church, 1601-17 th Ave. S, Grand Forks,  with  burial to follow at Petersburg, ND, Cemetery.

The Celebration of Life for Nancy will be held at a later date to be announced.
