Neil "Nels" Holwerda

Neil “Nels” Holwerda, age 79, of Fordville, ND passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his home.

Nels was born June 18, 1933 at Fordville, the son of John and Emma (Kafka) Holwerda. He was raised and grew to manhood at Fordville and attended Fordville High School. Nels lived and farmed near Fordville his entire life.

A single man, he is survived by nieces and nephews: Larry (Ann) Omdahl, Fordville; Chad Omdahl, Hatton, Faye (Joe) Heupel, Medina; Daphne Fallis, Park River; Darlene (Ted) Anderson, Hamilton; Sherry (Brian) Wysocki, Minto; Sharon (Wayne) Dupree, Grafton; Terry (Theresa) Robertson, Rosamond, CA; Mary (Peter) Houdek, Grafton; David (Annette) Robertson, Goodyear, AZ; many great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother: Richard Holwerda; and sisters: Jean Omdahl and Betty Robertson.

FUNERAL SERVICES: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at the Fordville Lutheran Church in Fordville.

VISITATION: Monday, June 3 from 5-7 p.m. in the Bakke Funeral Home of Fordville. Visitation will also be for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Tuesday.

INTERMENT: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville.
