NORMA NELSON

Norma Nelson, age 76, of rural Gilby, ND passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 in her home.
Norma was born March 24, 1937 at Grand Forks, the daughter of Norman and Mabel (Harshman) Arnberger. A lifelong resident of Gilby, Norma was a graduate of Gilby High School in 1955, and of the Deaconess School of Nursing in Grand Forks
She married Robert V. Nelson on December 6, 1957. Norma was a caring wife, devoted and loving mother to Guy and Beth (Gonitzke), and wonderful grandmother to Matthew and Thomas Gonitzke.
Norma loved gardening, and was very active in the Gilby Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Beth Gonitzke.
She is survived by her husband Robert; son: Guy, Grand Forks; son-in-law: Gary Gonitzke, Inkster; grandsons: Matthew and Thomas Gonitzke, Inkster; sister; Phyllis (Roger) Carlson, Mountain Home, Arkansas; brother: Neil (Cindy) Arnberger, Deer Park, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
Norma will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gilby Presbyterian Church in Gilby, with Rev. Daniel Billings officiating.

The family requests that memorials be donated to the Gilby Rescue Squad, the Gilby Presbyterian Church or the Forest River American Legion.
