Peggy (Mcmahon) Rawson

Peg was born May 16, 1953 to Judd and Jacqueline McMahon, Orr, North Dakota.  Peg graduated from high school at Midway High School, Inkster, ND, in 1971.  Following high school, attended North Dakota State School of Science and received an Associate degree in Printing.  Peg started her career in West Fargo, North Dakota, where she met the love of her life, Ricky Rawson.  Peg and Rick were married March 4, 1997, in the Virgin Islands.  There started their adventurous marriage, living in many different states.  Peg loved all their homes… Dubuque, Iowa, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Seattle, Washington, Katy Texas and upon retirement moved to Hemphill, Texas. It was in Hemphill Peg created a Zumba class for the local community who welcomed her with open arms. Friendships were not hard for Peg.  Ten minutes after meeting a person she knew them, and they would remember her.

Peg died unexpectedly on August 8, 2020, in her home.

Peg will be remembered for her contagious laugh, kindness to everyone and ability to make friends wherever she went, Peg was always fun and witty.  Peg loved to make jewelry, read, fish, sew, crochet, always had a project she was working on, and loved a good margarita.  What Peg loved the most was her grandchildren.

Left to mourn are Peg’s loving husband Ricky, step children:  Jamie Rawson, Jessie ( Chris) Lamage and Shelby; Rachel (Dan ) Harvey, Jake and Rory;  Mother Jacqueline McMahon, Siblings, Marilyn Pickett, Vicki (Blair) Dawes, Jon (Karen) McMahon and Kelly Sander.  Mother-in-law, Lou Rawson, and many nieces and nephews.

Peg is proceeded in death by her daughter Courtney Dahlen, Father, Judd McMahon, Maternal grand parents Jack and Angeline Landeis, Paternal grandparents Francis and Lucille McMahon, Father-in-law Wally Rawson, niece Dayviene Johnson Wolfe and nephew Conner Sander.

A memorial service for Peg will be Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Bakke Funeral Home in Larimore. Facial covering is recommended.
