Perry Wade Brintnell

Perry Wade Brintnell, aka “Big P” was born February 22, 1956 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Donald and Betty (Pfannsmith) Brintnell and unexpectedly passed on Friday, January 31, 2020 at his home.  He grew up in Pembina, ND and attended school there where he was active in Boy Scouts.  Perry loved sports and was a standout athlete in basketball, football and track.  He spent his summers farming with his Uncle Clyde Pfannsmith.  After graduating Pembina High School in 1974, he attended Valley City State College where he earned a degree in Industrial Arts and Physical Education.  During his 4 years at VCSC he played football-in 1976 & 77 they were conference champions.  After graduating college he moved to the family farm near Fordville, ND where he continued farming and took his first teaching job at Midway High School in 1979 and coached high school football.  He then taught at Fordville High School and coached girls’ basketball.  After teaching for 22 years he transitioned to being a full time farmer.

He loved his community!  He was a member of the Fordville Fire Department and Quick Response Unit, he was one of the founding members of the Dakota Prairie Wildlife Club.  Perry  was a  member of the Ridge Runner Snowcat Club, and  was the clubs long term President.  He went on to be on the state Snowmobile Board where he was currently a board member.  Perry  was on the Medford Township Board and the Fordville Co-Op Board.  He was an advocate for Matejcek Dam where he was considered the “Beach Commissioner” on Cocoa Beach.

Perry loved his nieces and nephews and watching them play in their sporting events.  The highlight of his life was his great nephew Levi and niece Lauren.

Surviving members of his family include his father Don and wife Rubie; siblings Randy (Carol) Brintnell, Gary (Kristi) Brintnell, Patty (Randy) Kuchar; nephews Joshua Brintnell, Brian (Colie) Brintnell, Nathan (Breanna) Brintnell, Riley Kuchar (Mikan), Reid (Carly) Kuchar, Robb Kuchar and nieces:  Lisa Brintnell (Andy) and Kaitlyn Brintnell; Great nephews;  Matthew Contreras, Levi Brintnell; Great nieces:  Addison Brintnell, Lauren Brintnell and Blake and Kodie Kuchar.

He was preceded in death by his mother, grandparents and several aunts and uncles.

MEMORIALS:  In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be directed to the Fordville Fire Department and Quick Response Unit.

VISITATION:  Tuesday, February 4 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service held in the Fordville Lutheran Church.  Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to funeral.

FUNERAL SERVICES:  Wednesday, February 5 at 10:30 a.m. at the Fordville Lutheran Church.

INTERMENT will be held in the spring in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville.
