Ramona Schmidt

Ramona Schmidt, Fordville, ND was welcomed into the Lord’s house on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the age of 88 at which time she was a current resident at the Valley Eldercare in Grand Forks, ND.


Ramona Delores White was born on June 2nd, 1929 in Bottineau, ND to George and Margaret (Kroeplin) White. Ramona attended a one room country school house until 8th grade and then attended the Gardena High School through graduation.

Ramona was united in marriage to Henry Schmidt Jr. June 2nd 1947. They farmed near Kramer ND until 1958 at which time they moved to Seattle Washington. Ramona then proceeded to work 33 years at the Swedish Hospital in Seattle. Shortly after the passing of her husband on March 16, 1997 Ramona moved to Fordville ND to be near her sister and family.

Ramona was a member of the Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending her time at the Fordville Senior Center along with gardening, reading, putting together puzzles and enjoying family time.
Ramona is survived by her sister, Glenora Dalbey Fordville, Brothers, James Halle of Spokane, Washington and Jim Schatz of Dryden, Washington along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 19 at the Fordville Lutheran Church in Fordville, ND.

Interment: Will be at the Oak Creek Cemetery in Bottineau ND

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to a charity of donor choice.
